FNQ Triumphs at State Awards

Hospitality professionals from all over Queensland and the Northern Territory gathered at The Star Gold Coast on Monday, 14 August for the much-anticipated Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards gala dinner, where over 40 awards were presented. The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised programme celebrating exceptional service and culinary talent across the state. Restaurants are assessed on the entire dining experience, including food, beverage, service and restaurant presentation by anonymous judges.

Salsa Bar and Grill received a standing ovation as they secured not one, but TWO prestigious awards. Best Contemporary Australian Restaurant (NQ and NT) and the highest honor of Restaurant of the Year (NQ and NT). In another double triumph, Caffiend was named the winner in both the Breakfast Restaurant and Cafe Dining categories. Our region was well represented with finalists in many of the categories and other notable winners were Piato for best Italian Restaurant, Tha Fish for best Seafood Restaurant and Harrison's for best Restaurant in a Hotel/Resort, just to name a few!
