Cairns’ pioneering small bar, Three Wolves, has officially reopened in a new location at 13A Spence Street, following the sale and redevelopment of its original laneway venue. Known for its moody ambience, premium cocktail menu, and boutique charm, the bar has undergone a significant transformation—retaining its signature character while expanding its offering in both size and scope.
The new space, accessed via a discreet alleyway, pays homage to the original venue’s tucked-away appeal. However, with over twice the floor space, the fit-out introduces a more refined layout, increased lounge seating, and a significantly larger bar area designed to improve the guest experience. The new setup also enhances operational flow, creating a more dynamic environment for both patrons and staff.
Among the most notable upgrades is the vastly expanded whisky collection, which now includes over 400 varieties from Australia, Scotland, India, and beyond. This extended selection firmly positions Three Wolves as one of Far North Queensland’s top destinations for whisky enthusiasts.
Behind the scenes, the relocation was nearly ten months in the making. The Hospo Group—the team behind Three Wolves and several other notable Cairns venues including Wolf Lane Distillery, Flamingos Tiki Bar, and The Hound—orchestrated the move with minimal disruption to service, closing for just a few days during the transition.
Originally launched in 2016, Three Wolves quickly became a fixture of the local hospitality scene, offering a more intimate and sophisticated alternative to the city’s mainstream bars. The new venue builds on that foundation, introducing thoughtful design elements, atmospheric lighting, and an evolved menu, while preserving the brand’s independent spirit.
Now open seven days a week, the new Three Wolves blends familiarity with freshness—an upgraded experience designed to serve loyal locals and new patrons alike, at the heart of Cairns’ growing nightlife precinct.
