Flynn’s first restaurant Boardwalk Social is set to spill on to the Cairns food scene 21 January 2020.
Occupying prime Esplanade real estate, Boardwalk Social, located at Flynn, a Crystalbrook Collection Hotel, will open 21 January 2020 ahead of the hotel’s opening date in late March.
Boardwalk Social is all about great food, good vibes and live music and events. This market-style food and beverage hub is the stomping ground for those wanting to see and be seen.
Joel Gordon, General Manager of Flynn and Area Manager for Crystalbrook Collection Cairns said, “Boardwalk Social will be a daily hive of activity; an eclectic home for live music, performances and local and touring DJs.”
Flynn Executive Chef, Hillary Langdon said, “The food is inspired by great gastro pub classics with a focus on local ingredients. Over 80% of the produce is local; locally caught fresh fish, locally sourced chicken in our
rotisserie Chicken Shop; we have even infused some of our dishes with our bespoke White Gin by Crystalbrook, created in partnership with Mt. Uncle Distillery.”
The beverage menu will wet your thirst with 36 beer taps, and over 40 gins available. “We’ve scoured the nation and the globe to bring together what we believe is one of the most diversified beverage menus in the region with plenty of local brews and artisan spirits featuring as well,” said Ross McFarlane, Food and Beverage Manager for Flynn.
The venue seats over 350 people and also features a video wall for screening of live sports events.
Boardwalk Social will be holding its official opening party on 26 January 2020. Starting at 12:00 noon, it will feature local DJ’s, musicians and dancers with the headliner DJ Brooke Evers early in the evening. The opening is free to attend, and reservations are not required.
